The original Zippo 46723 lighter features the symbolism of the Three of Swords Tarot card.

The design depicts one of Tarot's most recognizable images — a heart pierced by three swords. The Roman numeral III above the image identifies the card. In traditional Tarot symbolism, the Three of Swords is associated with heartbreak, sorrow, disappointment and emotional challenges, while also serving as a reminder that difficult periods are temporary and can ultimately be overcome.

Zippo describes the design as a reminder that turmoil is a necessary but temporary facet of life. The minimalist artwork is applied with laser engraving to a deep wine-red Merlot case. Fine lines forming the heart, swords and decorative rays give the lighter a distinctive graphic appearance.
