The original Zippo 46724 lighter features the Atomic Cosmos design, combining cosmic and atomic imagery in an intricate composition.

The front of the case displays a large orbital system surrounded by celestial bodies, planets, stars, radiating lines and geometric elements. The numerous intersecting orbits evoke both the structure of an atom and a stylized representation of the universe.

The name Atomic Cosmos combines “atomic,” referring to the world of atoms, with “cosmos,” meaning the universe. The artwork creates a visual parallel between the microscopic structure of an atom and the vast scale of space, with electron-like orbits resembling planets moving around celestial bodies.

Fine lines extend across the lid line and continue onto the lower section of the lighter, creating a continuous vertical composition.
